Hommes et Femmes (Men + Women)

  • Mon amour** – my love
  • Mon coeur** – my heart
  • Mon lapin** – my rabbit
  • Mon canard** – my duck  [CAREFUL  F*!ker = connard. & I HAVE slipped up and offended my boyfriend]
  • Mon chou** – my bun (Un chou à la crème is a cream puff. The chou is the pastry part) (Un chou is also a cabbage. It’s more a descriptor of a shape. A little lump)
    • Mon petit chou** – My little bun
    • Mon chouchou – just even cuter
  • Mon trésor** – my treasure
  • Ma biche – my doe (a deer, a female deer)
  • Mon poussin – my chick (baby chicken)
  • Mon ange – my angel
  • Doudou –no literal translation– darling [I hate this one. It sounds like poop. poopy. doo doo]

Hommes – Men

  • Mon chéri** – my darling
  • Petit Ami** – literally Boyfriend (This is more of a title I like to use.)
  • Homme de ma vie** – Man of my life – for SERIOUS relationships in serious moments
  • Mon beau** – handsome
  • Mon loup** – my wolf
  • Mon choupinet –  comes from mon chou
  • Mon gros – my fat one
  • Mon ours – my bear
  • Mon nounours – my teddy bear
  • Minou – kitty
  • Roudoudou – no translation although it is the name of a hard caramel candy…

  • Ma beauté** – my beauty
  • Ma chérie** – my darling
  • Ma caille – my quail
  • Ma cocotte – my hen
  • Ma colombe – my dove
  • Minette – kitty
  • Ma poule, ma poulette – my hen

 

As an American, using these can be a little extra… but it’s fun for me.
