MARCH  FOR  OUR  LIVES

Saturday, March 24, 2018, we took to the streets to demand changes to gun laws.

Our students and teachers lives and safety are a PRIORITY and we need an end to gun violence and mass shootings in our schools today.

Not one more. We cannot allow one more child to be shot at school. We cannot allow one more teacher to make a choice to jump in front of a firing assault rifle to save the lives of students. We cannot allow one more family to wait for a call or text that never comes. Our schools are unsafe. Our children and teachers are dying. We must make it our top priority to save these lives.

IT’S NOT OVER. Don’t forget to VOTE and SIGN THE PETITION and be in touch with your STATE AND LOCAL REPRESENTATIVES.

Candle: Fig

This is a SIMILAR one. For Christmas, mon amour got me a candle called Sous le Figuier (“Under the Fig Tree”) at a local boutique. Most of France is still OFFLINE UGH! . So here is a similar one.

ABOUT ME. I can’t stand heavy gourmand sweet AF scents. So I was worried when I unwrapped it. However, this one is well balanced and won’t leave me with a headache.

I have been loving burning candles before people come over.

I think it really sets the vibe, you know?

Coffee: Decaf. Organic. Fair-Trade. Water-Pressed

I’M A GEMINI. We go ABOVE + BEYOND

But hear me out. There is always a METHOD to the MADNESS

There are benefits to drinking multiple cups of caffeinated coffee a day, however after 3-4 cups (no, NOT your mug. Literal measurements of a ‘Cup’) you’re just looking at dehydration and addiction. I start each morning with a full French Press. However, in the late afternoon and evening I have been missing the warmth and bitter of coffee. ENTER DECAF

Water-Pressed: There are lots of ways to decaffeinate coffee. But most are cheap, quick and NASTY. Salt. Solvents. Gas. Chemicals. EWW  MORE INFO HERE .  The SAFEST and most SUSTAINABLE method is surprise, surprise the HEALTHIEST.

Swiss Water Process uses water to remove the caffeine and keep the flavor in the bean. WIN WIN WIN

Organic & Fair-Trade: I’m 25.

It’s time to put my money where my mouth is and vote with my dollar

I want to support sustainable business practices that benefit the environment and local communities.

(The Linked Coffe is another SIMILAR. Malongo is hard to find Stateside. )

Concealer: Nars Radiant Creamy

I’ve been eying this concealer forever. It’s been a hit since it came out. However it’s PRICEY.

I have major dark circles and lack volume under my eyes so I need something LEGIT.

I always thought this was a lighter coverage illuminated concealer for highlighting… welll.

I’M HOOKED. I use a color corrector and love the reflective finish it gives on top. I think it really opens my face and keeps me looking young. WIN WIN WIN

Because it’s so pricey I don’t wear it everyday. But it’s my new go to for when I go to work, see friends, events. etc.

Haircut: Hair Dresser School Salon

IT’S SPRING. I wanted to go SHORTER and LIGHTER

I am SUCH a budget queen so I’ve never spent a lot of money on my hair. I almost always go to a hair cutting school’s salon. I’m never disappointed and it’s great value. HOWEVER, it takes a long time.

I went to Académie Coiffure and had an amazing experience. I was nervous to explain everything in French, and it was my FIRST TIME getting hair color in a salon.

If you have a full afternoon to spare in the chair, this is my little secret to great hair without murdering your budget.

 7 Things from January

Foundation: Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation

This one is hard to find, so I linked Asos. It’s a safe bet whether you’re in the US or Europe.

“Give your skin a boost of radiance with a vitamin-rich fruit therapy formula for an even complexion and an instant anti-fatigue result! Its fresh and instant blending gel texture blends and glides onto the skin for an even, natural finish with no mask effect. Imperfections are erased, signs of fatigue are smoothed and the skin’s radiance is boosted for up to 16 hours. Made from vitamin-rich fruit therapy formula with litchi, goji berries and pomegranates.”

OKIE. Do I wear this for the ‘vitamins’? NO.

I love this foundation for spring because it is light, luminous, and long-ish wearing.

I chose a lightER shade because it does oxidate a little but I really enjoy this one! I might buy an extra bottle and smuggle it home.

 Podcast: Someone Knows Something

Released two years ago in March 2016, the podcast is hosted, written and produced by Ridgen. He uses investigative journalism to narrate a criminal cold case, and hopefully find some answers. THE INTERVIEWS ARE SO ENGROSSING.

Each season is about a different case, and there are currently 4 seasons.

I had heard about this for AGES and tried to get into multiple times, however this time I was HOOKED. I sped through seasons 1 and 2 and am currently starting lucky number 3.

I think it’s amazing you are sharing the march for our lives campaign–it’s such a prevalent topic that we need to stand up for it. I would also love to try out the Nars product–heard so much about it!

Thanks! There are two kinds of ‘Healthy Mix’ Foundations, but the serum seems to be the better one from the buzz online
