Nudes you ACTUALLY want

Let’s have an ~open and honest~ conversation about something people are *ahem* afraid of.

PERIODS

and the lack of safe and sustainable solutions to them.

If you are a woman (or know a woman!), you know periods are a fact of life.

However, our society’s solution for women (pads & tampons) are:

All around Toxic

If you can’t imagine changing for yourself, how about for the world.

There are no mass-market, sustainable options for menstrual periods. It has typically been sanitary pads or tampons. Both unfortunately are single-use plastic.

The average woman spends ~$120 on pads and tampons a year and she will menstruate for ~40 years.

That’s an estimated ~9,600 pieces of plastic trash … which totals $4,800

Not to mention the fear of vaginal irritation, infection, and toxic shock syndrome. I don’t know how many times I’ve stopped in a moment of panic to count how many hours my tampon was in. Women are still getting Toxic Shock Syndrome, and no one quite knows why.

It’s 2019, there have to be some other options, right?

What’s to be done?

The past couple of years I’ve wanted to get more serious about living sustainably, and looking into all areas of my life. Including periods.

I found a large community supporting a silicone menstrual cup.

However to be perfectly honest, I don’t think I bleed enough to get the most benefit out of this option.

Then I found period-proof underwear.

Sustainable…PERIOD
